Aunty inspires Jay’s shave
■ Eleven year-old Jay Griffiths has raised more than $3000, and recently shaved his head for the World’s Greatest Shave.
The St Paul’s Primary School head boy was motivated to join the cause, which supports Australians with blood cancer and fund research, after his aunt was diagnosed with leukaemia.
Jay’s goal was to raise $2000 in two weeks, and if his goal was ex- ceeded, his dad Jed vowed to lop off his locks as well.
The father and son now have matching buzz cuts after getting the chop on March 13 at the Tambrey Tavern, with a gang of family and friends cheering them on.
Mr Griffiths said he was proud of his son, who came up with the idea himself to do the shave and raise money.

Jay shaved off all his coloured hair last Sunday.
