School rivalry has Tom Price people in the saddle
■ The stakes were raised for WA Bike Week in Tom Price last week when its two primary schools not only took part, but turned it into a competition.
Tom Price and North Tom Price primary schools fought for the title of Bike Week champion, determined by the total riders — students, siblings, parents, and teachers — who rode to school.
North Tom Price Primary School won, but there were high levels of participation in both schools. A total 513 riders took part.
As the runners-up, Tom Price Primary School must fly North Tom Price’s school banner and the principal will wear their rivals’ school T-shirt at assembly.
