Ac­tor at youth event

Home and Away ac­tor Nic West­away is sched­uled to ap­pear at Dampier Youth Week event Spark­fest this Fri­day.

The tal­ented ac­tor will be trav­el­ling from the East­ern States to dust off his gui­tar for a rare mu­si­cal per­for­mance.

“I’m ex­cited, but feel­ing ner­vous about get­ting up there and play­ing a few tunes,” he said.

West­away said he en­joyed sup­port­ing youth week events and loved to see a com­mu­nity cel­e­brate young peo­ple.

Hav­ing grown up in Mar­garet River, he is ex­cited to be per­form­ing in his home State and hopes to squeeze in a trip to his home­town be­fore head­ing back to Syd­ney.

“I’m look­ing for­ward to be­ing back in my home State,” he said. “I don’t get back to the South West as much as I would like to.”

Spark­fest is a free event for young peo­ple aged 11 to 25, from 6pm at Hamp­ton Oval.

The youth festival also in­cludes an ap­pear­ance from DJ An­tikz as well as lo­cal per­for­mances, a foam pit, photo booth and car­ni­val amuse­ments.
