New party to visit Karratha
A political party founded by controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders will be in Karratha tomorrow evening spruiking its message ahead of the Federal election.
The Australian Liberty Alliance is in the middle of a national tour, with regional residents able to meet the party’s WA Senate candidates Debbie Robinson and Marion Hercock.
Mr Wilders is well known for his opposition to Islam and has been criticised for his views by Australian politicians, including WA Premier Colin Barnett. ALA bills itself on offering a “conservative alternative for voters who are concerned about Islam in Australia”.
Mrs Hercock said people attending the meeting could expect to hear about the party’s platform, which she said was based on smaller, smarter government and stopping the “Islamisation” of Australia.
The location and time of the event is yet to be released.
