We asked Karratha residents what they would like to ask Malcolm Turnbull if they were given the opportunity to speak to him when he came here this week. Some took it more seriously than others.

My question is tax reform. Why have you walked away from negotiations with State Governments on broadening or increasing the GST? If the Australian people want better services then we have to pay for it. You could protect pensioners and low-income earners by exempting them from PAYG. Furthermore, you could raise the GST and abolish PAYG taxation. In turn the population would have more income to spend attracting an increased tax take of GST.

Michael McDonald

My question would be why are you bringing in refugees when we already have a high-density population. And how about cut your wages before cutting health and education funds.

See if he's keen for an MTB ride!

The latest ABS data indicated Karratha’s population had not plummeted in the past year, but many were not convinced.

Roebourne 1000, Wickham 3000, Point Samson 500 max. That’s short of the 6900 they say for Roebourne area.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure there are 19,000 people in Coles and Woolies the night before Good Friday or when a cyclone is announced.

Lisa Read

No way! What are they doing, counting FIFO?
