Pilbara Girl competition open
Entries are now open for this year’s Pilbara Girl competition.
The program is open to indigenous girls between the ages of 16 and 25years-old from Karratha, Roebourne, Wickham, Hedland and their surrounding communities.
Pilbara Girl aims to showcase the beauty of our region’s Indigenous women and culture.
Throughout the month of July, entrants will participate in a series of workshops focusing on personal and professional development, leadership, deportment and grooming.
The first heat event will be held on July 15 and finalists will complete another round of workshops in October before the crowning.
The 2016 Pilbara Girl will be crowned at a ceremony in Broome on October 7.
Past winners of Pilbara Girl have gone on to walk in WA Fashion Week, participate in youth leadership programs throughout Australia and overseas, and MC at local NAIDOC events.
To apply, head to the Pilbara Girl Facebook page. Entries close June 22.
