Region has appetite for bush tucker
Fervor has released its tour dates through the North West for 2016, with multiple stopovers in Karratha on the menu.
The gourmet bush tucker degustation specialists made their first trip to the Pilbara in 2015 and hailed it a success, hosting multiple sellout dinners at Hearson’s Cove and Paraburdoo.
Head chef Paul Iskov said guests to their dinners could expect completely different menus to last year’s trip.
“We will use similar proteins though, so there will be emu and kangaroo, some native lemon grass, wattleseed and some stuff from around the coast as well,” he said.
“I know from last year there was some great stuff like bush onions, bush passionfruit, the freshwater mussels, oysters, hopefully some kangaroo.
“The City of Karratha have been fantastic to us, they’re really supportive and we just hope we can deliver a great meal again.”
Mr Iskov said his team had been “blown away” by their involvement in the Karijini Experience last week, where they held their regular degustation dinners and catered for the Culinary Experience and Mounrise Lounge VIP area.
The travelling restaurant will be in Paraburdoo this weekend before heading north to the Kimberley region.
Two dates have been set for Karratha so far, Friday, June 3, and Monday, June 6, but Mr Iskov said there was potential to add more dates if demand was there.
