Wellness a draw card in the bush
A bold new addition to the Karratha events calendar promising indulgence in the Pilbara bush has officially been launched.
The Adventure Retreat Company’s Pilbara Wellness Retreat will be held on Karratha Station from July 22 to 25.
Peter Sharp, aka the guy with the dance moves who took the TEDx stage by storm and mastermind behind the world’s biggest eye contact experiment, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker.
Mr Sharp is a Perth-based social artist who will break a three-month tour of the US to attend the event.
Adventure Retreat co-director Amanda Ewin said the launch in Perth last week was attended by a who’s who of WA’s tourism industry.
“We can’t wait to share the beauty and magic of Peter’s work with our guests,” she said.
“(Peter) uses fun, playful activities to explore the power of human connection, encouraging complete strangers to share moments of love and kindness — it’s absolutely spine tingling to watch.”
Other speakers on the bill include health, wellness and mindfulness experts Dr Jenny Brockis, Mike House, Jill Buckton and Nicky Arthur.
Co-director Kylah Morrison said the speakers were just one part of what was shaping up as an unforgettable weekend.
“Our hope is that everyone who attends the Pilbara Wellness Retreat walks away with a truly life-changing experience,” she said.
The Pilbara Wellness Retreat will also feature cultural immersion tours including bush tucker foraging, tribal dancing and a visit to one of the world’s biggest ancient rock art galleries.
There will also be sunset yoga, bush walks, a pop-up gourmet long-table dining hall, stylish glamping village, fine food and wine.
Three-day all-inclusive packages start from $1797 per person.
