Tense action in week seven competition
Week seven of the Karratha Dampier Men’s Darts Association had the teams playing rounds in Karratha and Dampier.
At the Karratha Recreation and Sports Club, the Mangrove Jacks hosted the Ironmen and were in for a hard night after losing the first three games.
The Jacks fought back to get on the scoreboard but the very polished Ironmen tidied the match up six games to three.
The Pythons and the Magic traded wins one game at a time and it came down to the last game of the night for the Pythons to take the honours, five to four.
Out at Dampier, the Mermaid Hotel’s local sides, the Islanders and Exports, hosted the Tigers and Chalkies from Karratha and the honours went one apiece.
The Islanders were under the pump from the start and won a few games later in the night, but couldn’t stop the rampaging Tigers and ended up going down six games to three.
Meanwhile, the Exports took the chocolates from the new kids on the block, the Chalkies.
Strong play by the Exports set them up early and when super Wally Robinson clenched his singles, it was all over for the Chalkies, six games to three.
Young Gaabinou Palmer, from the Chalkies, played in only his second-ever match and won both his singles.
New players are welcome and can contact the president on 0422 297 694 or go to the KDMDA Facebook page.
Chalkies' Gaabinou Palmer shoots for a 180 while Maurice Palmer scores.
