The West Pilbara Softball Association saw two landslide wins during game four of the season last week.

Geckos defeated Sinners (2) by a massive 30 runs to 1.

Geckos’ junior Chloe Stopps batted 1000 while Teisha Rob connected well to send the ball to centre field for a three-bag hit.

Rhiannon Wingate from Sinners (2) played another great game at shortstop while Jolene Bosman smashed a three-bag hit to get her on base for the first time this season.

Sinners (1) defeated the Dampier Falcons 29 runs to 12. The Falcons had it in the beginning but strong batting saw the Sinners (1) come back in the second half.

Cassie Inkster starred in the batter’s box for the Sinners (1) with a massive hit getting her to third base and two over the plate. Becky Macneall displayed some aggressive base running and sliding.

Falcon’s juniors played well but the play of the match went to their stalwart, Lynette Upton, who smashed a grand slam.

It was a closer game between Orbits and Storm but it was Storm who came out on top in the end winning by just two runs.

Storm started strong with the bat, bringing in nine runs in the first innings. Orbits tried to match them and kept their intensity all game but couldn’t close the gap initially set by Storm.

Sarah Boagey and Kalisa Storey from Storm both had nice outfield hits to bring in some runs while Orbits newcomer Alison Wigmore and returning player Bronwyn Thomas batted well from Orbits.
