Newcomers battle it out in club’s fourth round

The smell of two stroke was once again in the air at the Karratha Kart Club on Saturday night for round four of the club championships.

The club welcomed three new members for their first race meet: Jack and Shayne Southwood in the pro cadets and Joanne Churchman in the north west light class.

The pro cadet class (aged 7-12 years) was well represented with nine entrants.

Racing was clean but well fought over the four races, with top three finishers Lincoln Drew, Tristan Grey and Connor Grey battling it out all night.

The north west light and heavy senior classes were combined for the night.

Race one ended in controversy where a technical glitch saw the top four pull into the pits with one lap remaining, handing victory to the elated newcomer, Churchman.

Racing in the TaG 125 class didn’t disappoint with nothing separating the field all night.

Brad Wilde took the overall win and Chris Smith’s DNF in race two didn’t hinder him much, finishing second ahead of Alec Norman.
