Event to bring good music, food, drinks
An innovative new “pop-up” event centred on good music, food and drinks is coming to a Tom Price restaurant this Saturday, June 4.
Pilbara Pop Up will launch at 2pm and go until late, in the outdoor area behind Thai restaurant Red Breeze.
DJ Gareth Richardson, who has 16 years experience and performed at the recent Karijini Experience, will provide the entertainment. Red Breeze will offer a tailored bar menu and event organiser David Egerton will supply a complementary wine list.
Mr Egerton, who has a background in event management, said Pilbara Pop Up was a chance for residents to enjoy a “very relaxed, very chilled out” atmosphere and expand their musical horizons.
“I just think there’s definitely a niche for something a little bit different on offer here,” he said.
“Gareth has the knowledge to educate people in music they wouldn’t otherwise be able to listen to in Tom Price.
“I think it’s just a new place to go and for me it’s purely about providing something a little bit different the town can utilise.”
Mr Egerton said the event was designed to enhance the existing area behind Red Breeze by adding a fun, low-cost twist.
“The pop-up element comes from already having a space that’s established, but may not be being utilised in that same capacity, and popping something up based on something local you have around you and the people you have around,” he said.
“A lot of (the furniture) is recycled stuff that I’ve picked up around town — they’ll be couches, oil drums, pallets. I’ve been finding it over the last few months on the buying and selling pages.”
Pilbara Pop Up is free to attend.
