‘Ghost whisperer’ connects with the spirits
Pilbara residents will have a chance to connect with the spirit world next week when Australian ghost whisperer Anthony Grzelka visits the region.
Grzelka is coming to Port Hedland and Karratha next Thursday and Friday for his Whispers From Beyond tour, where he communicates with spirits trying to reach out to loved ones before a live audience.
For the first time, he will also be leading a ghost tour of the abandoned port town of Cossack during his trip to Karratha.
Grzelka has been a practising medium for 16 years and said he uses a mental mediumship style, where he receives impressions of spirit energy that direct him towards certain people.
“It’s a huge responsibility,” he said. “When you have someone sitting in front of you that 18 months ago, their son has taken his life, you connect to that person. It’s a huge responsibility to give them as much information as you can as accurately as you can, and in a compassionate, honest way.
“I think (the part I like most is) just the uniting of people in this world and the other, and just to take away some of that arcane mystery that perhaps religion and misinformation has put around death and dying ... It’s nothing to be scared of.”
Grzelka said the Cossack ghost tour was “completely different” from his stage show and involved feeling lingering energy from spirits in the area.
The Whispers From Beyond shows are on Thursday, June 16, at 7.30pm at Matt Dann Cultural Centre in Port Hedland and on Friday, June 17, at 7.30pm at Karratha Leisureplex.
Tickets are $75 and available at www.whispersfrombeyond.com. au or by calling 9791 8529.
