Blockbuster action double at Moonrise
Criminal (June 17) and X-Men Apocolypse (June 18) at Moonrise Cinema, Pilbara Institute
There’s double the action on at the Moonrise Cinema this weekend.
The world needs to be saved in both Criminal and X-Men: Apocalypse, so take your pick or go for both.
In Criminal, CIA agent Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds) dies while travelling to a secret location to meet a hacker who can launch missiles at will.
Desperate to find his whereabouts, officials turn to an experimental neurosurgeon who can transfer memories from one brain to another. The guinea pig for the procedure is Jerico Stewart (Kevin Costner), a violent and dangerous death-row inmate.
Now gifted with Pope’s skills and knowledge, Stewart must race against time to stop a sinister international conspiracy.
In the latest instalment of X-Men: Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe has amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible.
Upon awakening after thousands of years, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) is disillusioned with the world as he finds it.
He decides to recruit a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order over which he will reign.
Criminal screens Friday, June 17 and X-Men Apocalypse follows on the Saturday, both at 7pm.
Tickets are available online now at moonrisecinema.com.au and will also be available to purchase on the night at the box office if not sold out before.
Moonrise Cinema is at the Pilbara Institute on Dampier Highway and is brought to you by the City of Karratha, Woodside Pluto LNG and Rio Tinto.
