Or­bits have win of the round

The West Pil­bara Soft­ball Or­gan­i­sa­tion saw some land­slide vic­to­ries dur­ing round 7 of the sea­son over the week­end.

The Or­bits de­feated Sin­ners 1 by 27 runs.

Or­bits’ Nadia Smyth played a great game, tak­ing three catches and bat­ting 1000 with two grand slams — bring­ing in 10 RBIs for the game.

With most hits go­ing to the out­field Sin­ners 1’s Narelle Walton, Claire Mo­ran and Kylie Atkin­son played well, al­though Or­bits man­aged to find the gaps.

Jess Creighton and Ali­son Wig­more made some good plays in the in­field to keep the field­ing tight.

Fifi Se­sar, in her first game of soft­ball, bat­ted 1000 with four out­field hits.

Sin­ners 2 were also de­feated by the Dampier Fal­cons, 23-3.

Ju­nior Fal­con Shae Hawkes had a great three-bag hit as well as field­ing well at short stop and tak­ing a cou­ple of catches. Maddi Sopp also took two catches at third base for the Fal­cons and Chris­tine Ry­der pitched the game well for Dampier.

Sin­ners 2’s Rhi­an­non Win­gate had a spec­tac­u­lar game at short stop, tak­ing three catches and man­ag­ing a two-bag out­field hit.

The Geckos and Storm had a closer game, but in the end Storm de­feated Geckos 12-3.

Teisha Robb and Nathalie Manado took two catches each for Geckos and Tracey Reynolds bat­ted 1000 for the game.

Storm’s Ge­orgina Bushby bat­ted 1000 with one home run and Piri Dar­gav­ille did a great job in the pitcher’s cir­cle again, with five strike-outs.
