Kar­ratha Net­ball is in its sev­enth round of net­ball now and the last set of games saw some strong com­pe­ti­tion and close nail-bit­ing games on show.

In di­vi­sion 1: the Bul­lets 1 de­feated Sin­ners 1, 45-40; Blades 1 de­feated Cougars 1, 45-41; and Thun­der­bolts 2 de­feated Te­quiras 2, 35-34, in a tight match.

In di­vi­sion 2: the Kar­ratha Academy De­vel­op­ment Squad 17 de­feated Thun­der­bolts 3, 52-20; Blades 2 de­feated Cougars Blue, 34-32; and Cougars Gold de­feated Bul­lets 2, 62-22.

In di­vi­sion 3: Thun­der­bolts 5 and Cougars 5 drew, 43-43; The Komets blitzed the Pan­thers 1, 75-6; and Te­quiras 3 de­feated Cougars 4, 24-19.

In divi­sions 4 and 5: Te­quiras 4 de­feated Thun­der­bolts 6, 32-20; and Pan­thers 2 and Thun­der­bolts drew, 31-31 all.

The Kar­ratha Net­ball As­so­ci­a­tion trav­elled to New­man on the week­end to make a bid for the North West Cham­pi­onships held in New­man on June 17-19.

The squad sent six teams over for a chance at the title and have been train­ing hard in re­cent months to max­imise their chances, in­clud­ing ses­sions with for­mer in­ter­na­tional coach Sue Gau­dion. See next week’s edi­tion of the Pil­bara News for de­tails.
