Riders roll-up for six coaching clinics

Pilbara News - - Sport - Damien Muller

Rock and Roll Mountain Biking instructors delivered a variety of clinics to Karratha riders on Saturday, June 11.

Six clinics were held over Saturday and Sunday, with sessions for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.

Rock and Roll head instructor Mark Wardle said many of the 50plus participants were newcomers, meaning Karratha’s mountain biking community would continue to grow.

This was the fifth year Burrup Mountain Bike Club has hosted Rock and Roll Mountain Biking in Karratha, and the clinics have been extremely popular with the local community.

ATCO Power, GCS Equipment Hire and Sea Ripple Village all supported this year’s clinics.

A number of Burrup Mountain Bike Club members used the clinics to get started on their Mountain Biking Australia coaching certification process.

The new skills coaches will enable the club to continue supporting rider development locally.

The coaching development was made possible through grant funding provided by Westcycle, the peak body for cycling in Western Australia.
