Karratha kids showcase arts
Karratha Senior High School students showed creative stripes at the annual arts showcase on Thursday.
The event saw visual art and media students’ works on public display in an undercover area of the school and music and drama students performing for the crowd of about 200.
Among them were a Year 7 circus mime, a screamo cover of a Silverchair song and a group ukele performance of Vance Joy’s Riptide.
Head of the arts Leanne Hunt said the event was a chance for students from Years 7 to 12 with all kinds of talents to be recognised and celebrated.
“I think it shows we have such a huge variety,” she said.
“And it shows that we can really cater for that too.
“It doesn’t matter what their interest, they will find some sort of pathway through our senior high school in the arts to really find their niche and get creative with it.”
