Pilbara News - - News - Grant Taylor and Gabrielle Knowles

Tough laws designed to strangle the flow of meth into WA have been introduced in State Parliament, including increased stop-andsearch powers for police on country roads.

The measures will allow police to declare 5km sections of roads or highways as “suspected drug supply routes”, giving them the power to pull over and check any vehicle for up to 14 days.

Police will also get powers to conduct random searches at major freight and parcel distribution terminals, which could be locked down for up to 24 hours.
