Chevron shut­down con­tin­ues

Gor­gon’s sec­ond LNG cargo, aboard the Marib Spirit and des­tined for the Pil­bara project’s co-owner Royal Dutch Shell, left Bar­row Is­land last week.

But LNG pro­duc­tion at Aus­tralia’s big­gest re­sources project, at a cost of $US54 bil­lion and count­ing, re­mains shut while re­pairs and main­te­nance are car­ried out fol­low­ing de­tec­tion of a leak in the acid gas re­moval unit.
