Man hurt in gorge mishap
A Perth man had a lucky escape in Karijini National Park last week after falling down a cliff face in Joffre Gorge.
The 25-year-old from High Wycombe fell about 2.5m down a cliff face last Wednesday morning.
Tom Price State Emergency Services volunteers attended the scene along with park rangers, police and St John Ambulance, where it was decided a vertical lift rescue was required to recover the man.
He was treated at the scene before being lifted and was taken to Tom Price Hospital with a broken arm and a laceration above one eye.
Just over a year ago a 19-year-old German man died in a 7m fall at Hancock Gorge and a woman received head injuries in a separate fall at Hamersley Gorge on the same day.
