WA jobless rate falls slightly
The national jobless rate has lifted to 5.8 per cent despite a huge jump in the number of people in full-time work.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported unemployment in June increased by 0.1 per cent.
At a net level there was a 7900 lift in the number of Australians with a job. But within that figure there were wild swings, with full time employment up 38,400 while part-time employment dropped by 30,600. In WA, the jobless rate eased slightly to 5.7 per cent.
According to the bureau, there was an 8600 lift in full-time employment on a seasonally adjusted basis.
