Children and parents from all over the region attended the Wickham Family Event on July 16 for an afternoon of fun and entertainment.

More than 750 people flocked to Wickham Picture Gardens for the free event, which was hosted by the Wickham Community Association.

An interactive performance from Captain Barnacles, a character from hit kids TV show The Octonauts, was the highlight of the evening for children.

There were free show bags and balloons, as well as fairy floss provided by the Roebourne Volunteer Fire Brigade, face painting from Wickham’s One Tree Community Services and ice cream from Samson Soft Serve.

The WCA is planning the next Wickham Annual Community Celebration, which is set to include a celebrity cricket match.
