The Paraburdoo Riders Association raised some much-needed funds for local charities in late July on its annual poker run.

A convoy of motorbikes headed from Paraburdoo to Tom Price and back again to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Paraburdoo Youth Centre.

Paraburdoo Riders Association secretary Maka Kemp said the rain failed to spoil a good day out on the roads.

“We were down on numbers, but considering the weather it was pretty good,” he said.

“Most of our funds go back to the community and the rest goes into running our shows.

“All the bike clubs do them and it’s just a way of getting the community and other clubs involved as much as we can to support each other.”

Mr Kemp said the president and members had gone to great effort to organise the event.
