Port Walcott Yacht Club was a spectacle of colourful and creative costumes last Saturday for the annual APEX Karratha Garden Party.

Almost 500 people enjoyed an afternoon of food, drinks and live music at the sell-out event.

Best-dressed awards went to the roller-coaster, the pineapple and strawberry, the praying-mantis and a very convincing Hector Salamanca, of hit US TV show Breaking Bad.

APEX Karratha secretary Scott Cumming said there was a “good, positive vibe” throughout the day. “It was success,” he said. “As always, the Karratha community really turned it on and made sure they dressed to impress.”

The APEX Karratha Garden Party is the organisation’s biggest fundraising event of the year, which raises about $25,000 for the community.
