Organisers of community projects are being encouraged to apply for the latest rounds of the Regional Grants Scheme and Community Chest Fund which both opened this month.

Dave Grills, Nationals MLC for the Mining and Pastoral Region, said the programs supported local projects that helped to provide improved facilities and services in regional communities.

“The grant programs provide voluntary organisations, educational institutions and community organisations with grants of up to $50,000 for CCF, and from $50,001 to $300,000 for RGS,” he said.

“This funding supports regionspecific projects that are driven by local communities to assist the development of infrastructure and services that help to build vibrant regions.”

Mr Grills said the outcomes of these projects improved the quality of life in regional communities and helped to attract investment and create jobs.

Projects requesting funding under $50,000 should apply through the Community Chest Fund. Projects requesting funding between $50,001 and $300,000 should apply through the RGS.
