Tip-off leads to arrest, drugs seizure
Roebourne police have arrested a man for alleged possession of drugs, firearms and thousands of dollars in cash thanks to information from the public.
Officers executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant at a property in Cheeditha Aboriginal community on Thursday, August 18, based on public tip-offs.
They allegedly found about 70g of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and $7400 cash as well as a rifle, live ammunition and a replica handgun.
Cheeditha man Ronald Ritchie, 24, has been charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession, and a number of firearms offences.
He is on bail and due to reappear in Karratha Magistrate’s Court on September 13.
