Seagulls newcomers a dangerous combination
While illness kept some regulars away from last week’s hockey games, two highly skilled newcomers raised the skill level and speed on the pitch.
Garrett Godrich and Mike Plumb joined the Karratha Seagulls and were a force to be reckoned with in combination with Nevin Shakespeare.
There was no stopping this duo, who went hard early with some quick passing and running through the centre to score two very quick goals before the Pilbara Giraffes even woke up.
Giraffes wingers Beck Jewkes and Marty Shakespeare had to run fast and work the ball around the sides to get through to striker Annabelle Little, eventually allowing the Giraffes to answer with some goals of their own.
The fast-paced, skilful game was a thrill to play and finished 10-5 for the Seagulls.
Nickol Bay Hockey Association plays social hockey at 7pm every Wednesday at the Bulgarra Tennis Courts.
