KHB Mobile Mechanical has swept the Onslow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Awards, taking home three of eight awards including the people’s choice award for 2016.

KHB was also chosen as the best business with five to 10 employees and received the small business achiever award.

The awards were hosted at the Onslow Beach Club, which took home best business with 11-20 employees, and were attended by about 80 people.

Discovery Parks won best business with more than 20 employees and the tourism and hospitality award. The V Swans won best community organisation and O’Relax! Services and Pets won best micro business.

Fortescue Metals Group founder Andrew Forrest gave a well-received speech on the night, highlighting just how far someone from Onslow can go.

OCCI executive officer Chantelle King said the awards highlighted Onslow’s healthy business landscape.

OCCI president Geoff Herbert said the people’s choice award had been a good opportunity for the Onslow community to thank a business which went beyond the call of duty.

The winners will now go on to nominate for the West Australian Regional Small Business Awards.
