Postie Bike riders complete 3000km trek
After a gruelling 3000km trek through the Kimberley and Pilbara outback, a group of riders finished their 2016 Postie Bike Challenge in Broome on Monday.
Since 2002, riders from Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Singapore and the US have taken on the challenge to ride a small-capacity motorcycle vast distances across the rugged Australian landscape, all in the name of adventure and charity.
This year, 20 riders signed up to the challenge, and embarked on a journey from Perth via Kalgoorlie-Boulder through the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. The group left Perth on September 4 and eventually made their way to Broome. Organiser Dan Gridley said the ride had been a great success. The motorbikes will be donated to Broome Rotary Club.
