Several Nickol Bay Hockey Association regulars from earlier in the year returned to the field for a closely fought game last Wednesday night.

Declan Tussler was a key player for the Karratha Seagulls out on the right wing, working with Jacob Innamorati in the centre.

Meanwhile, striker Trudi Tunstead held her position and was instrumental in creating four of the six goals slotted by the Gulls.

The Pilbara Giraffes were in strong form last week and there was no stopping Paul Montgomery who, in his finest moment, solidly saved an opposition goal and ran the ball all the way down the field to score one of his own for the Giraffes.

Newcomer Mike Plumb returned for his second week as well. His skills not only kept the Giraffes in the game but he scored their winning goal by deflecting a beautiful pass from Megan Gillie.

The Giraffes defeated the Seagulls 7-6.
