The townsfolk were not pleased to see part of the bushland around Miaree Pool going up in smoke last weekend.

This is not good news for our local pool. @ThePaulJagger

Reports came out last week claiming employment in the mining sector was on the rise again, but Pilbara residents were sceptical of seeing any of the benefits.

One of our casual boilermakers was sent an sms two weeks ago if available for a local shutdown. He replied yes, once company realised his local address he was rejected as it was for “FIFO” position only. Josh Boord

I saw a job on SEEK for FIFO fitters and boilermakers, ongoing position. I rang Steelcap for more info because they said start ASAP with all tickets inductions. Turns out they only wanted local staff, which they admitted they didn’t have and were willing to use me if I had my own accommodation. Craig Wood
