Renter arrested after tip-off
Karratha police have arrested a man for allegedly possessing a trafficable amount of methamphetamine after a house raid last week.
Officers searched a house in Pegs Creek in Karratha last Tuesday based on information they received from the public.
They allegedly found more than 28g of methamphetamine on the property. A 22-year-old man believed to be leasing the property was arrested and has been charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply.
He appeared in court last Wednesday.
The amount of meth alleged to have been recovered is in excess of the threshold for drug trafficking under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Karratha police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Andrew Stevens said targeting alleged drug dealers was a focus for the station and meth finds of this quantity were “very significant”.
