Close shave for charity
The needfor a haircut has become a chance to contribute to charity as part of the World’s Greatest Shave for one Karratha woman.
Tamara Musto will have her long hair shorn to a No. 2 cut by local barber Notorious Cuts for the Leukaemia Foundation campaign, which raises money for blood cancer research, once she reaches a pre-set target of $5000.
She said the cut was initially for practical reasons, before she realised it was also a way to raise money for a worthy cause.
“With four boys, I just don’t have the time to style my hair,” she said. “So I thought, if I’m going to do a huge chop, I might as well do it properly.”
Mrs Musto began her campaign on September 12 and said donations were coming in fast.
“I want to make sure that I hit a target of at least $5000, and once that’s reached then it’s off with the locks,” she said.
