Clarity needed on Durack member’s plebiscite position

Pilbara News - - Opinion -

I am disappointed that Member for Durack Melissa Price did a door-stop interview at Parliament House on October 11, saying no one in Durack has objected or is unhappy with the plebiscite.

Many in Durack have objected or are unhappy with the plebiscite, but she has failed to listen; we still aren’t clear exactly what her position is.

It is an important issue for many of us, myself included. I am happily involved with my partner of 14 years and am wondering if we’ll be afforded the same right as other Australians and be allowed to marry one day.

Stop delaying and let Parliament do its job and vote on this very important issue today.

Same-sex couples want to be treated equally before the law; not too much to ask at all.
