Have a say on youth events

Young peo­ple in the City of Kar­ratha are en­cour­aged to share their ideas on events and ac­tiv­i­ties that will shape youth pro­gram­ming through­out the com­mu­nity in the next year.

A survey seek­ing feed­back on is­sues fac­ing to­day’s youth and what young peo­ple would like to see pro­vided in the fu­ture is now live, and those aged 11 to 18 years are en­cour­aged to take part.

City of Kar­ratha Mayor Peter Long said the coun­cil-run ini­tia­tive pro­vided valu­able in­sight into the pro­gram­ming needs of young peo­ple in the com­mu­nity that could then be ad­dressed through the City’s Youth Ser­vices team.

“Each year we con­duct this youth­spe­cific survey to make sure we are meet­ing the cur­rent needs of young peo­ple in the com­mu­nity and of­fer­ing ap­pro­pri­ate events, pro­gram­ming and sup­port,” he said.

All youth who com­plete the on­line survey will be el­i­gi­ble to en­ter a prize draw for a UE Me­ga­boom, an iPod or one of six $50 iTunes vouch­ers.
