Social pics from Oktoberfest
Hundreds of Karratha residents raised a stein to Germany and every beer lover’s favourite festival at the Blanche Bar-run North West Oktoberfest last Saturday.
The Quarter’s grassed City Square space was packed with festivalgoers dressed up in dirndls, suspenders and lederhosen and ready to celebrate.
Eight types of international and local beers flowed freely on tap, along with German sausages, pretzels and in a surprise twist, cigars were also on offer.
MC Angie Ayers led the crowd through regular renditions of the German national anthem, prizes for the best-dressed guests, a silent disco and a hot dog-eating contest.
Music from band Misguided, DJ Bobby Chance and guitarist Mikey Smith got partygoers up and dancing into the night.
A second North West Oktoberfest event will be held in Port Hedland’s Civic Centre Gardens this Saturday.
