Krack­ens post win

Round 3 of the Kar­ratha Wa­ter Polo As­so­ci­a­tion’s 2016-17 sea­son was well con­tested, with the four games closer than the score­lines in­di­cated.

In the first women’s game, the resur­gent King Bay Krack­ens downed the Pil­bara Pi­rates, 8-4, with Caitlin Read, Laura Hill and Natalie Glover dom­i­nat­ing scor­ing and pos­ses­sion. Por­tia An­gove and Anouska An­gove kept the Pi­rates in the game, com­bin­ing for three of the four goals.

The men’s first game be­tween a de­pleted Krack­ens and hun­gry Pi­rates team ended with the Pi­rates win­ning 12-2.

The se­cond ladies’ game saw the Bur­rup Bar­racu­das beat the Searip­ple Sharks, 10-2, with Kate Kala­jzich and Sarah St­in­ton driv­ing and con­tribut­ing a cou­ple of goals each.

In the fi­nal men’s game, the im­proved Bar­racu­das downed the Krack­ens, 9-3.
