Krackens post win
Round 3 of the Karratha Water Polo Association’s 2016-17 season was well contested, with the four games closer than the scorelines indicated.
In the first women’s game, the resurgent King Bay Krackens downed the Pilbara Pirates, 8-4, with Caitlin Read, Laura Hill and Natalie Glover dominating scoring and possession. Portia Angove and Anouska Angove kept the Pirates in the game, combining for three of the four goals.
The men’s first game between a depleted Krackens and hungry Pirates team ended with the Pirates winning 12-2.
The second ladies’ game saw the Burrup Barracudas beat the Searipple Sharks, 10-2, with Kate Kalajzich and Sarah Stinton driving and contributing a couple of goals each.
In the final men’s game, the improved Barracudas downed the Krackens, 9-3.
Anyone interested in playing can come to games on Thursdays, from 6pm.
