Man pleads not guilty to historic abuse charges
A man charged with sexually abusing a young girl in Tom Price more than three decades ago has pleaded not guilty in court.
Eric Millard, 73, was arrested by Midland detectives in September as a result of an investigation into historic child abuse allegations.
It is alleged Mr Millard assaulted a young girl 24 times over a period of seven years between 1979 and 1986.
The girl was three years old at the time of the first alleged offence. Appearing in Perth Magistrate’s Court last Friday, Mr Millard denied the charges and pleaded not guilty to 24 counts of indecent dealings with a child under the age of 14.
Magistrate Martin Flynn extended the Forrestfield man’s bail for the second time after he first appeared in court on November 4.
He will next appear in the Perth Magistrate’s Court on January 27. If you are or have been a victim of child abuse, or if you have information about someone being abused, phone police on 131 444.
