Fire­works Light the Night for good cause

Fam­i­lies from all over Kar­ratha headed to the Hamp­ton Har­bour boat and Sailing Club in Dampier last Satur­day night for the an­nual Guy Fawkes Day cel­e­bra­tions. The crowd en­joyed a fire­works dis­play over the ocean and joined in the Light the Night walk to raise money for the Leukaemia Foun­da­tion.

The Dampier fore­shore was lit up by a pa­rade of blue, yel­low and white lights as hun­dreds par­tic­i­pated in the Leukaemia Foun­da­tion Light the Night Walk at the an­nual Guy Fawkes Day cel­e­bra­tions.

Hun­dreds of peo­ple gath­ered at the Hamp­ton Har­bour Boat and Sailing Club last Satur­day evening for a night of fun, food, fire­works and fundrais­ing.

There was face paint­ing and a bouncy cas­tle for the kids as well as mar­ket stalls and food vans.

The event was MC’d by Angie Ay­ers and band Chris­lyn Trio pro­vided the Twi­light Tunes and had pun­ters singing and danc­ing through­out the evening.

About 7pm, peo­ple of all ages took part in the Light the Night lan­tern walk along the beach as a tribute to those di­ag­nosed with leukaemia.

Just be­fore 8pm, all eyes turned to the sky as hun­dreds of fire­works lit up the har­bour.

Chris­lyn Trio pro­vided live mu­sic en­ter­tain­ment that had the crowd singing and danc­ing.

The fire­works dis­play was pop­u­lar with the crowd.
