The Robe River Kuruma people were congratulated after winning a 20-year fight to gain native title over their lands last week.

Old boy would have been proud. His country that Silvergrass. Marawaru country Bobby’s and Alexander. So happy for you all. Sad he is not with us to see that. Thanks be to those that passed before and handed the stories down from Marawaru’s line, blessings to you all. Cherry Alexander Aren't traditional Aboriginal practices on the land guaranteed under the WA State constitution? They shouldn't have needed a battle over land rights for this. Adrian Lemke It's not fair that Aboriginal people have to fight for so long for their land. Carol Knowles

While Karratha residents were somewhat sceptical about the need for a second shopping precinct at Tambrey, there was no debate about whether or not Woodside should be housing its staff in town.

Whether or not a second shopping precinct is needed, Woodside and all other resource companies should be committed to housing employees in the towns they operate in. Andrew Smith If they need a camp for FIFO why can't they use the existing one on Balmoral Road? Julia Hudson Is Karratha even big enough to have two shopping centres? Well if it’s not ratepayers’ money so be it. Juanita Wineera

The people of Instagram and Twitter were pretty excited about the Spoilbank Marina announcement made just up the road last month.

Would be great if a swimming area was incorporated also. @Unionandy Perfect spot for future North West Fest! @vronkev

We asked whether you were an ”it’s too hot” or an “it’s not even hot” person this summer on Facebook and got a pretty even response.

What are you talking about, it’s still bloody cool! CJ Walker The one that lived here for 20 years and is surprised by the heat ever year! Bring hot days and beer at 8am. Jaclyn Nicholl Yeah it is warming up but not sure how I'll go when it is getting hot again. Carolyn Biar I am the other, it is bloody hot in the Pilbara. Diane Brooks
