Man to face court after domestic violence incident
A man has been accused of stabbing his female partner in the wrist with a kitchen knife, severing an artery and causing significant blood loss, in an alleged case of domestic violence in Roebourne.
The 27-year-old man has been charged with one count of aggravated grievous bodily harm for the alleged incident, which required the 40-year-old woman to be flown to Perth for surgery.
Police allege the pair were arguing at a Roebourne property about 11am on November 5 when the woman walked outside and held the front screen door shut behind her.
They allege her male partner picked up a kitchen knife and struck her wrist through a gap in the doorway.
The knife allegedly caused a deep cut in the woman’s wrist, hitting an artery and causing significant blood loss.
The injured woman has since flown to Perth for surgery.
The man is due to reappear in Karratha Magistrate’s Court this week.
