Awards nods open

It’s that time of year again — time to start think­ing about the peo­ple in the com­mu­nity you feel make a real dif­fer­ence.

Nom­i­na­tions are now open for the 2017 City of Kar­ratha Aus­tralia Day Awards.

This year, the six cat­e­gories for nom­i­na­tion are Cit­i­zen of the Year, En­vi­ron­ment Award, Com­mu­nity Spirit Award, Young Cit­i­zen of the Year, Com­mu­nity Ser­vice Award and Com­mu­nity Event/Ac­tiv­ity of the Year.

In­for­ma­tion on cri­te­ria and on­line nom­i­na­tion forms can be found at www.kar­ratha.wa.­trali­a­day, or hard copies can be col­lected from City of Kar­ratha re­cep­tion on Wel­come Road, Kar­ratha.

The win­ners of each cat­e­gory will be an­nounced at the Aus­tralia Day Awards break­fast cer­e­mony at Kar­ratha Leisure­plex on Jan­uary 26 at 9am.

Each cat­e­gory win­ner will re­ceive a $1000 cheque.

The City of Kar­ratha is proud to present the 2016 Aus­tralia Day Awards in part­ner­ship with Rio Tinto and the sup­port of Hori­zon Power and Wood­side En­ergy Lim­ited.

Nom­i­na­tions close at 5pm on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 9.
