An ex­clu­sive crowd gath­ered to cel­e­brate sport­ing achieve­ments at the 2016 City of Kar­ratha Com­mu­nity Sports Awards pre­sen­ta­tion held at the Kar­ratha Leisure­plex on Fri­day night.

Guest speaker, Aus­tralian bas­ket­ball great Michele Timms and City of Kar­ratha club de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer and event MC Natalie May started with an en­ter­tain­ing ques­tion and an­swer seg­ment that touched on the basketballer’s fun­ni­est and most chal­leng­ing times in the sport.

Eight cat­e­gory prizes and two long-ser­vice awards were given out over the course of the night, with the main award for best sport­ing group go­ing to Nickol Bay Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion.
