Time to dust off the Santa hats and reindeer antlers because there are plenty of Christmas celebrations happening across the City of Karratha and the Shire of Ashburton this month.

Shire of Ashburton president Kerry White said there were a variety of festive events happening across the region.

“There is nothing quite like a Pilbara Christmas where, despite our hot and often wet weather and distance from family, friends rally together and celebrate with a great sense of community spirit.”

City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said the city’s Christmas calendar would give people a great reason to stay in town this festive season.

“Over the past few years the City of Karratha has ramped up our Christmas events culminating in this year’s extensive Christmas in the Pilbara events calendar,” he said. “The events bring young and old together to experience some Christmas magic right here and we are thrilled to, along with our partners, be able to present another exciting year of festive fun in 2016.”
