Resilience in the face of hardship

Pilbara News - - Pilbara Opinion -

It’s hard to believe another 12 months have passed us by and Christmas is again upon us.

As the festive season draws close, I am sure we’re all ready for a change of pace.

For most of us, Christmas is a joyous occasion when we finally get some downtime to spend with loved ones.

For others across the Pilbara it has been a tough year.

We continue to see job losses or relocations, business closures and people faced with foreclosure and losing their homes. Our community is resilient. We’ve been many through ups and downs over the years but it’s important for all of us to reach out to those who are doing it tough at the moment.

Let’s hope 2017 brings fresh change and opportunity for all.

I’d like to acknowledge once again the continued hard work of the police, doctors, nurses and volunteers around town who will be working right through the festive season. Thank you for all
