Learn to pro­gram

A Scitech Edi­son Robotics course will be run­ning at each of the City of Kar­ratha li­braries this week, giv­ing chil­dren aged 8-15 a chance to learn about bar­code and com­puter pro­gram­ming, ro­bot art and ro­botic en­gi­neer­ing.

As part of the course, stu­dents will ex­plore the fas­ci­nat­ing world of robotics and com­puter pro­gram­ming us­ing Edi­son ro­bots.

Stu­dents will learn to pro­gram a ro­bot to fol­low a line, play mu­sic and de­tect ob­sta­cles. They will also use Lego Tech­nic to build a dig­ger to pick up Lego pieces.

On Thurs­day, Jan­uary 12, the course will run in Roe­bourne from 10.30am to 11.30am and Wick­ham from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. One Fri­day, Jan­uary 13, there will be ses­sions in Dampier from 10am to 11am and Kar­ratha from 2pm to 3pm.
