DUET gas boost
The owner of the Dampier to Bunbury gas pipeline has announced plans to build WA’s biggest gas storage facility near Onslow.
DUET Group’s wholly owned subsidiary DBP Development Group will build the $69 million facility, expected to be in operation by June next year.
The facility will hold 42 petajoules of gas with daily injection and withdrawal rates of about 50 terajoules.
CITIC Pacific, which operates the nearby Sino Iron magnetite mine, will be the foundation customer of the facility under a 10-year gas storage agreement with options for a further five years.
