Free trial for wi-fi

Roe­bourne residents can con­nect to free wi-fi at their lo­cal Depart­ment of Hu­man Ser­vices agent thanks to a new trial.

Roe­bourne and Bidyadanga are the only sites in WA cur­rently of­fer­ing free wi-fi ac­cess to con­nect to Cen­tre­link, Medi­care and Child Sup­port ser­vices, and nearly 1000 gov­ern­ment and com­mu­nity web­sites.

Mem­ber for Du­rack Melissa Price said Ngar­li­yarndu Bindirri Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion staff could step peo­ple through how to use the dig­i­tal ser­vices on of­fer.

Hu­man Ser­vices Min­is­ter Alan Tudge said the trial made it eas­ier for peo­ple liv­ing in re­gional and re­mote ar­eas to ac­cess on­line sup­port ser­vices.

The free wi-fi trial ends on Jan­uary 31.
