One Nation revealed

Pilbara News - - State Election 2017 - Tom Zaunmayr

One Nation appears to have selected a Perth resident to take on WA Nationals Leader Brendon Grylls in the Pilbara seat.

Claremont resident Andrea Randle is understood to be One Nation’s pick for the Pilbara seat, while Dane Sorensen will contest North West Central.

Ms Randle is registered in Perth on the electoral role. The White Pages also has A. Randle listed in Claremont. She failed to respond to requests for comment. The party’s head office failed to respond with details of the two candidates by time of print.

One Nation will field three Mining and Pastoral Region candidates — Robin Scott, Justin Keating and Maz Fiannaca.

Mr Grylls said One Nation was yet to earn the respect of voters in WA.

“I think history will recall in 2001 One Nation elected some MPs into the Parliament,” he said.

“Within a year it went pear-shaped and became dysfunctional, there was infighting, they quit the party and were gone at the next election.

“I am very confident the voters not just in the Pilbara, but in all of Western Australia will compare what has happened when One Nation gets elected and what happens when the Nationals get elected and have a very clear and stark choice when it comes to the election in March.”
